Sammons joins IGL


The IGL – Indoor Gridiron League is proud to

announce New Ownership for an IGL Franchise in

2014, former Philadelphia Soul WR Emery Sammons

(6’2, 190, Norfolk St.). Sammons played four seasons

in the AFL & was a member of the 2012 & 2013

Philadelphia Soul who won the American Conference

Championships and appeared in Arena Bowl XXV –

Arena Bowl XXVI. Prior to the Soul, he played two

seasons with the Spokane Shock, where he won the

Arena Bowl in 2010.


Sammons, a native of Willingboro, NJ, resides in

Philadelphia, Pa.

He was part of the Manchester Wolves (2008-09)

in the af2. In 2009, he was named to the All-af2

team with 102 receptions, 1,146 yards, and 26

touchdowns. In 2007, Sammons was invited to two

mini-camps with the Philadelphia Eagles and was

part of the preseason roster for both the Soul and

the New York Dragons.

Sammons played his collegiate football for the

Norfolk State Spartans (2004-06) and was one of the

team’s main offensive weapons.
