Philadelphia Yellow Jackets & IGL Announce The Delaware County Mustangs
Philadelphia’s Newest Professional Football Team, The Philadelphia Yellow Jackets in partnership with The IGL – Indoor Gridiron League continue building their brand with the signing of the Delco Mustangs, who will begin play as part of the developmental league in 2016.


The IGL – Indoor Gridiron League is a Developmental Indoor Football league, which is owned by JAKIB Media Partners and operates as a developmental league to help athletes pursues their dreams of playing professional football. In 2012, the IGL entered into a partnership with the Philadelphia Soul & the league has utilized the partnership with the Arena Football League’s Philadelphia Soul, making the league the first minor indoor league to be sponsored by a professional team. The Soul Partnership was extended into the 2013 Season. The IGL would then expand in partnership with AFL China, while also heavily supporting the Inaugural Army Veterans vs. Navy Veterans Arena Football Game in 2013 & 2014.


Owner Scott Emuryan is a union worker with a long history of football in the Delaware County and is bringing back a historic name in Delaware County football. The Mustangs will be operating as a developmental team with a direct affiliation and partnership with The Philadelphia Yellow Jackets, Philadelphia’s Newest Professional Football Team, who will begin play in the AIF (American Indoor Football League) in March of 2016.

“My excitement to be part of the IGL is two fold. First, providing a vehicle for local athletes to pursue a career in football where their talents can be showcased in an atmosphere that is able to provide professional opportunities. Secondly, to provide an opportunity for the game of football to effect change in our communities through team outreach and participation in local charitable organizations.” Said owner Scott Emuryan.
“The Mustangs give us a presence in a very strong football area. Delaware County is known for producing top notch teams and players, and is a perfect fit into the IGL ” Stated Commissioner Turkel.

The Mustangs will run operations out of historic Delaware County and be very active in the community.

“The IGL is not looking for Owners”, stated Commissioner Adam Turkel, “The League is looking for teams that represent historic spirit, meaningful community support and an unconditional commitment to the players seeking an opportunity.”

In the honor and spirit of the very first professional football team to begin play in Philadelphia, the Frankford Yellow Jackets began play in the NFL back in 1924 and represented the community and this city for 7 years thru 1931. They won the NFL Championship back in 1926. Now, 85 Years later, The Philadelphia Yellow Jackets will begin play in the spirit and honor of the original, legendary team.
